Winter Park was established in the 1880s and is one of the most beautiful areas in Central Florida. It is quite famous for the charm of Park Avenue which boasts some of the most unique shopping and dining in the area. Walk the Avenue with family and friends. Lakes are an important part of the Winter Park community. These lakes are a destination for water sports, boating, fishing and swimming. Some of the largest and most beautiful estates are situated on this magnificent chain of lakes. This chain covers 2,781 acres and includes Lake Virginia, Lake Osceola, Lake Maitland, Lake Mizell, and Lake Minneola. These 5 lakes are all interconnected with deep, narrow channels, allowing for navigation between lakes.
