The main road through downtown Orlando is Orange Avenue, bringing you to the thriving South Downtown area, recently coined SoDo.
SoDo is experiencing an extension of the revitalization and growth occurring in the central downtown area. Leading this change is the transformation of 22 acres of f former industrial block, which is being developed into a thriving mixed use, urban activity center, with a complete date set for fall 2008. It will integrate retailers with luxury apartments, office space and restaurants with a village style look.
The area has excellent accessibility to downtown, I-4, East/West toll roads, as well as being located approximately one mile from the Orlando Regional Medical Center, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. The surrounding residential area offers a mix of homes that range between historical bungalows to very large estates, and also offers many beautiful parks and lakes.
