The name ‘Orwin’ is a combination of Orlando and Winter Park, and as the name suggests half of Orwin Manor is in the City of Winter Park while the other half is in the city of Orlando. The first homes in Orwin Manor were built in 1924. The Westminster & Stratford sections are considered some of the finest subdivisions and the forerunner of other high end subdivisions such as the Beverly Shores section of Orwin Manor (opened in 1936) and Rose Isle.

Orwin Manor, for all of its quiet appearance, is an interesting and colorful place to live. The voluntary homeowners’ association is very active in political decisions that affect the area and extremely interactive with the homeowners. Many activities are scheduled throughout the year and bring the residents together in the community park for these events. The combination of convenient location, variety of architecture with many historic homes and mature street tree canopy has drawn homeowners to the neighborhood for many decades.
